Lightricks

Lightricks is an Israel -based start up company that designs photo and video editing applications (“apps”) for mobile phones, including Facetune .

History

Lightricks, Ltd. is an Israeli startup company based in Jerusalem . [1] . The company was created by five entrepreneurs who developed the Facetune portrait-editing app. [2] Before the launch of Facetune 2, Lightricks focused on selling paid units of Facetune and Enlight. Before the shift to subscriptions, the company revenue was $ 10 million a year. [3]

Products

Apps from Lightricks and other mobile image and video editing software for aspiring creatives such as VSCO are using Adobe Photoshop to mobile video editing. [4] . They play a role in making creativity accessible to ordinary smartphone users. [5] .

Lightricks produces mobile editing applications such as Facetune [6] , Facetune 2 [7] , Enlight [8] , Enlight Photofox [9] , Enlight Quickshot [10] and Enlight Videoleap [11]

Facetune enables users to remove blemishes, improve complexions, and perform other manipulations on their photos, which can be done by Photoshop on a desktop computer. [12]

Awards and recognition

Enlight, an artistic photo editing app from Lightricks, was Apple’s App of the Year for 2015 [13] and recipient of the Apple Design Award in 2017 [14] . Facetune was Apple’s # 4 best-selling paid app in 2016 [15] .

The Facetune app is currently being used as a case study. [16]
